People sometimes ask about my personal reading patterns. Each day I work through a lot of church news headlines, thanks to Google Alerts, and a few daily subscriptions such as from Christianity Today. I also try to spend time with books, usually print form. The majority are “skim,” but I always have a few that I slow down enough to read slowly; some for my travel bag, some for my desk, and others as I wind down at day’s end. Here are the books currently on my nightstand:
Unstuck: Out of Your Cave into Your Call, Mark Jobe
The Well-Played Life: Why Pleasing God Doesn’t Have to Be Such Hard Work, Leonard Sweet
Your 4 Fathers: and Their Kingdoms, James O. Fadele
Christian China and the Light of the World: Miraculous Stories from China’s Great Awakening, David Wang & Georgina Sam
Just Lead!: A No Whining, No Complaining, No Nonsense Practical Guide for Women Leaders in the Church, Sherry Surratt & Jenni Catron
