This pre-Thanksgiving Wednesday I’m awash with gratitude for my city in general, and for Dallas Baptist University in particular. (I’m grateful also that sleet just canceled a four-day trip to New York City. But that’s another story.) All this on top of a steady pulse of gratitude for my wife, my work, my wonder at the people in my life, and that “because God is, I can be.”
Today’s Museletter comes with a visual aid because last night Dallas Baptist University recognized me for Halftime and Leadership Network-another case of sharp people making me look good. I left deeply touched and with a sense that I was seeing DBU with new glasses.
To illustrate for my audience last night the idea of what happens when we help the high-impact few reach the great needs of many, I showed a short video, this one on Leadership Network. Our work makes us invisible except to the leaders we serve, and that’s as it should be. As we so often say: “The fruit of our work grows on other people’s trees.”
My cup is full. Happy Thanksgiving.
