How Does Your Church Compare With These Numbers? (Part 3)

By March 21, 2016 No Comments

Here are some preliminary findings from several hundred churches that have participated in the recently launched 2016 Large Church Salary, Staff and Budget Survey. Whether you’re from the US, Canada, UK or elsewhere, here’s the deal: If you give us your numbers (which we treat with utmost privacy and confidence), we’ll give you lots of feedback about other churches your size. Free. For all the details, see the first page of the survey, www.leadnet.org/salary.

So … how does your church compare with these numbers? (These are overall tallies from the 700-plus churches that have participated so far, but are not yet broken down by church size.)

2% …
say that the entire congregation is told the salaries of the specific individuals on church staff

12% …
have non-traditional staff, such as those who raise their own support, people who work almost full-time but receive no pay except medical benefits, etc.

38% …
give 5% or more of their total church budget (all funds combined) toward church planting, whether direct (a specific church plant) or indirect (the portion of their denominational and/or network giving earmarked for church planting).

49% …
say the biggest ongoing problem with their church’s finances is “inconsistent giving over the course of the year”

41% …
churches that directly sponsor a school (anything from pre-school to high school)

Don’t miss this opportunity to take part and learn more about churches your size. Please pass this blog (or the shortcut web link above) to the “stats and salaries” person on your staff.
