Globalization: What Does It Mean for the Future Church?

February 25, 2013

Most churches think about “globalization” in terms of things happening ‘out there’, with little impact on the local church beyond the missions program.  But that perception may be short-sighted.

This second video post from our recent “What’s Next Online Conversation” features Bob Roberts from Gateway Church discussing how he thinks the Church should view globalization and its impact on local ministry.

After watching this video, I would love to hear your thoughts on globalization and what it means for the local church.  How are you addressing some of the issues Bob raises?  What challenges and opportunities do you see for the church in the next 5-10 years?

As we prepare to gather our first group of churches as part of the What’s Next Leadership Community, we would love to hear from you regarding your hunches on ‘what’s next’ for your church.  What questions are you wrestling with?  What opportunities lie ahead?  What challenges are you actively developing solutions for?  What strengths do you believe God will leverage in the months and years ahead?  Post your thoughts in the comments below.
