To some, the neighboring movement that is currently sweeping across America might seem like just another church fad. However, the truth is that neighboring is simply a renewed vision to obey the second greatest commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself.
But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus,
“And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29
In The Neighboring Church, Rick Rusaw and Brian Mavis address the implications of this question: Does loving our neighbors mean the actual people who live around us? Rusaw and Mavis say yes, and that after loving God and family, it’s the most important thing we do.
Getting the local church to see outside its walls has long been a passion of Rick and Brian as they led LifeBridge Christian Church to be more engaged in the community. Driven by the question, “If the church disappeared would anyone care?” they have found ways to help churches all over the globe engage in schools, social services and becoming externally focused.
This path has led them to go further and ask, “What if we got better at the two things Jesus said mattered most?” In this free webinar you will learn about the shifts every leader and church can make to follow Jesus’ command right where they live.
Join us Thursday, March 2nd at 1pm Central as we discuss:
• Neighboring as a cultural trend.
• How neighboring connects with “nones” and “dones.”
• Is neighboring a value or just a program?
