Conversations: Jon Ferguson on Community Movement in Networks

September 25, 2014

We are excited to continue a new Leadership Network blog series called “Conversations on Church Innovations.” These video and audio posts feature candid conversations with innovative church leaders from across the country talking about the areas of ministry they are passionate about.

Jon Ferguson is co-founder of Community Christian Church, a church with 14 locations in the Chicagoland area, and NewThing, which is Community’s global church-planting mission. He is the Chicago Network Pastor at Community, overseeing COMMUNITY’S initiatives in the city of Chicago, including three new locations in the last three years.  He also serves as Teaching Pastor and leads the team of staff Champions for adult, student, children, and creative arts ministries across all COMMUNITY locations.  He is an adjunct professor at Wheaton College Graduate School, and he co-authored The Big Idea, Exponential, and Discover Your Mission Now. He lives in Lincoln Park on the north side of Chicago with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Graham and Chloe.

Leadership Network Director Greg Ligon had the opportunity to talk with Jon Ferguson about the Community Christian Church, the rapid growth within their campuses, their network of churches and most importantly the ‘movement’ happening within these church networks. There certainly is a movement of God being experienced and an excitement stirring within Chicago that is being felt in the surrounding areas. Enjoy this Conversation!
