Leadership Development: An Age-Old Challenge with a Modern-Day Twist
VIDEO Brent Dolfo posted on 9/13/2011 in Leadership Development
Many of today’s church leaders face the same problem: leadership development. Most struggle to find better ways to empower and release their people for ministry, and now with the emergence of the multisite movement, church planting and rapid church growth, many of the top choices have already been taken. Churches today are using a variety of strategies and philosophies to generate new leadership in order to find the right balance of formal leadership development and more organic spiritual training. In this video, Brent Dolfo talks about how the rising number of new churches and multisite plants has become a drain on the number of quality leaders available. As new churches and campus are started many senior leaders find that there are not enough quality candidates ready for the next opportunity available. Most churches find that it more desirable to use their own people that they have already trained. Some of the questions Brent talks about are “How do I produce leaders?” and “What should a leadership development program look like?” Brent also talks about some of the new language centered around leadership development.

I am working in the area of Christian leadership development and would like to read the article.
As a recently elected board member, I have been charged with the task of finding
resources for on-going education. I would like to find video tutorials, or a video
course that would be helpful to new board members, as well as our current board.
Thank you Pat Harper
