Generosity Becoming a Fundamental Spritual Discipline for Churches

VIDEO Christopher Willard posted on 10/11/2011 in Generous Churches

Churches that are leading the charge in becoming more generous are taking their giving to a whole new level. Generous churches are teaching differently about money and going to great lengths to model generosity. This next generation of churches continues to advance the idea of generosity even further by modeling a generous life at every level of leadership and concentrating on ministry to change the hearts of their congregations. In this video, Chris Willard talks about some of the generous churches he has worked with and how giving and generosity has to become thought of as a spiritual journey. Chris discusses the metrics, trends, questions, and some predictions for the future of generous churches. Chris also gives several examples of churches participating in generous acts for the community and around the world.

Chris,
Thanks for highlighting the differences in men/women giving.  Our research project examining the barriers to Christian women’s giving and ways to overcome the barriers will be released Spring of 2012.  Look forward to sharing the results to unleash even greater kingdom generosity.

Thanks Chris.  Really good content here.  Well done.  I really like the connection between generosity and spiritual growth you make here.  Totally reframes the topic.  Also like the optimism - “generosity is bright in America”.  I see that too - more and more churches seeing the need and being bold in addressing generosity without an appeal or ask.  Looking forward to reading the book too.
