Eugene Cho: Redefining Success

Redefining Success It’s important leaders listen really well, not only to the Holy Spirit, but to our context, our culture, and our community. Because we know that when God moves into our neighborhoods, it takes different shapes and forms. On a personal level, a personal transformation has been something I’ve wrestled with and come to peace with in the last couple of years. When we’re immature, when our rootedness is not in the Gospel of Christ, which is the game changer of all game changers, then it leads us into dangerous, lonely places.
As Christians we want to jump to the glories and splendors of Resurrection Sunday, but Ministry is not always about these glorious metrics of success. What you want to be faithful and obedient to is this: That is something that really changed my life.
Be the most influential and loving pastor and leader to your church. That is the most important thing.
Part of that is because I’ve struggled with insecurity.
• It leads us to envy, jealously,
• It leads us to a place where we’re not able to celebrate,
Discussion Questions:
1. What makes you feel significant?
2. How do you know when you are successful?
3. If you were looking into Jesus face right now, and telling Him your answers to the first two questions, would He agree with you?

Excellent Pastor Cho. Your message was on target. But what was even a greater message was that you were taking time away from ministry for self-care and and to be with our family.
You have demonstrated that God blesses and honor those that serve Him faithfully. And He does so in an excellent way for those who seek to please Him. I pray that your family’s vacation was all that you desire.
One of my favorite scriptures: No good thing will He withhold from them that walk upright. (Ps. 84:11)
