How involved does the lead or senior pastor have to be for a church to provide a strong and effective approach to leadership development?
Brent Dolfo, Leadership Community director, observes two distinct models: “Leadership development has consistently been noted as a hot button in surveys of church leaders,” he says. Some take an approach that’s driven by their lead pastor. For other churches, the lead pastor blesses the approach, but hands the implementation to another member of the senior team.
Whether the model is lead pastor-driven or lead pastor-blessed, both approaches to leadership development can be effective.
