Millennials, Nones, and the Next Generation
Millennials (those born between 1980 and 2000) now comprise 23 percent of the U.S. population. Yet only 10 percent of churches have congregations comprised of at least 20 percent Millennials. 18 percent of churches have no Millennials in attendance. Could it be that a church without Millennials is a church without a future? Apart from Millennials, those who claim no religious affiliation, commonly referred to as “Nones has more than doubled in the past few years. The Church always exists to pass the message to the next generation. But new generations and new mindsets mean new challenges and new approaches.
