Multisite: Next Decade “What’s at the Core?”

Posted on 7/3/2012 by Greg Ligon in the Learnings Blog

When we began our first Leadership Community for Multisite Churches, one of the central questions was "What has to be in place at each of our campuses for it to be a part of us?"  In essence, "what does it mean to be One Church in Multiple Locations?" Early on the list was long including everything from style of worship to the every so spiritual "color of the carpet."  Over time, the conversation has been framed around the concept of understanding your church's DNA and has centered on clarity of your vision, mission and values.

In this series of Multisite: Next Decade blog posts, I am giving you some insight into the DNA of some of the pioneering churches in the movement.  In preparation for our recent gathering, each shared a three minute or less video that laid out the essentials of their multisite strategy and ultimately DNA.  Check out the thoughts of Chris Brown from North Coast Church and Steve Zarrilli from Woodside Bible Church.

North Coast Core

  1. Venues are demographic driven and not age driven.
  2. 100% video in all venues and campuses
  3. All ministry is local

Woodside Bible Church Core

  1. Reproducible, low cost model
  2. Mergers: Rebuilding struggling ministries
  3. Neighborhood groups
